Tyler Seavey, local Mushroom Hunter and Mycology Enthusiast will lead a Mushroom Walk and Talk on land protected by Hilltown Land Trust. Tyler has been foraging for, and eating of, wild mushrooms in Western Massachusetts for over 25 years. He has been a member of Monadnock Mushroomer’s Unlimited and the Boston Mycological Club. Tyler has lead walks for the Hitchcock Center for the Environment and Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture, among others. Join him and learn about foraging for mushrooms in the wild. Tyler will share stories gleaned over his years of interacting with both professional and amateur mycologists. During the talk Tyler will cover mushroom basics and guidelines for their safe study and responsible harvest. During the walk you will get an opportunity to search for wild mushrooms and discover which are safe to eat and what should be avoided.
