Join us for a Mushroom Spore Printing Workshop with local artist Madge Evers. Spore printing is the technique of taking the millions of tiny spores that fall from mushroom caps and using them to create a print. This technique is also helpful in identifying mushrooms, as mushrooms have different color spores.
In this workshop, participants will have the chance to harvest wild mushrooms and use them to learn the techniques of spore printing by trying their hand at making a print or two. Note that spore prints can take up to 24 hours to fully process, so participants will need to show up later to pick up their prints. Preregistration is required for this workshop as space is limited.
Cost:
- $5 for HLT or The Trustees members
- $10 for non-members
Please bring the following supplies with you to the class:
- paper (both dark and light as some spores are white)
- paper cups and/or bowls
- note-taking materials
- optional: mushroom field guides (Note that Madge is NOT a mushroom identification expert, so please don’t expect to consume any mushrooms at this event!)
Preregistration is required for this workshop as space is limited. Please send an email to hltoutreach<at>thetrustees<dot>org or call 413-628-4485 ext 4 and provide:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- the above information for any additional attendees
