Property monitoring is one of the most meaningful and effective ways YOU can actively care for local land. As a property monitor volunteer, your work ensures that protected places remain in their natural states and frees up valuable time and resources for land trusts to continue their work on protecting more land.
Learn to be a property monitor, meet other volunteers, and help us care for the land you love. Hilltown Land Trust and Kestrel Land Trust are partnering up to offer a crash course on property monitoring. This 3 hour class is designed for volunteers who want to refresh their monitoring skills or are interested in becoming a volunteer property monitor for either organization. We’ll review the basics of conducting a site visit, lessons in navigation using maps and GPS, and get some practice in the field. Attendees are encouraged to sign up to monitor at least one property after the workshop.
Training is free, but advanced registration is required. Contact HLT at HLTLandsteward@thetrustees.org, or call (413) 628-4485 ext. 4 to RSVP.
