We hope you will be able to join us on Saturday, March 6th for a demonstration by Hilltown Horse Logging‘s Michael Madole and his Belgian mare Hazel, who will offer an overview of their minimally invasive timber harvesting practice. The team will demonstrate removing timber from a woodlot with an emphasis on leaving the surrounding forest as healthy and as unimpacted as possible. Striving to mimic the natural growth/disturbance cycle of the forest, they work to carefully harvest less viable trees with minimal damage to the more promising growth that remain – strengthening the long-term health of the forest.
Pre-registration and adherence to HLT’s COVID-19 procedures – including masks and proper social distancing – are required for all attendees (see form below). Attendance is capped at 10 people, and all participants (including members of the same household) must pre-register individually.
This event will be held on private property in Plainfield. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CURRENTLY FULL. To be added to the waitlist, please email Barry@hilltownlandtrust.org.
