Earthdance is opening its doors and trails to Hilltown Land Trust’s hikers. This artist-run retreat center provides a dynamic mix of dance, and somatic and interdisciplinary arts training in an environment that values sustainable living, social justice, and community. Located in the Berkshire hills, this innovative approach to arts programming was founded over thirty years ago.
Hikers will meet at Earthdance on Saturday, January 19th at 11:30 AM for sign in. Wear appropriate layered clothing for a winter hike. We will explore the two trails Earthdance has in their 100-acre forest. These are moderate trails that start as one then branch into a Y. The right trail follows a brook and ends by a wooden bed platform that was built for sleeping next to a waterfall. The left trail is longer and a moderate hike until the last ascent. This final, steep, vigorous climb is for the most adventurous. After an hour of hiking we will have a delicious lunch prepared by Earthdance staff. If you believe in magic and the expansive nature of human expression, this event is for you.
Earthdance charges $10.00 per meal. Lunch will be shared with participants of an Earthdance workshop, Authentic Movement. Participants will pay this fee directly to Earthdance staff on the day of the event. Please inform Hilltown Land Trust about any food allergies and sensitivities.
RSVP no later than January 14th so Earthdance will have time to order the food. Spaces are limited. This event will be modified to lunch only, if the weather is too wet for hiking. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcomed on the trail but not in the buildings. To reserve a spot, contact Susan Schroder at HLToutreach@thetrustees.org or call 413-628-4485 x 4.
