Join us for a short hike at the spectacular Glendale Falls: one of the longest and most powerful waterfall runs in the state! The steep, moderate-to-strenuous but brief hike will include a trail to the bottom of the falls and out along a woods road. Total mileage out and back is a little over a mile. Features include a gorgeous waterfall and the foundation of an 18th-century grist mill. Directions to Glendale Falls can be found here. Note that there are no bathroom facilities at Glendale Falls.
After the hike, we will go get breakfast together at the Red Bucket Sugar Shack in nearby Worthington. The Red Bucket Sugar Shack restaurant is built around a tree (Tommy the Tree), and always features creative specials.
There is no cost for this event, but you must pay for your own breakfast. The Red Bucket Sugar Shack is cash only, so be sure to bring money!
Note that GPS doesn’t give you a reliable driving route to Red Bucket! From Glendale Falls, take River Road north to Rte 143, take a right to head east, then continue onto Rte 112, then turn right onto Kinne Brook. Turn left at the intersection to stay on Kinne Brook. The Sugar Shack is just past Fisk Rd on Kinne Brook.
