Sunday, December 23rd was an absolutely perfect winter morning to watch the sunrise. A huge, silver Full Cold Moon dominated the western sky and slowly slipped behind the trees. A hawk circled above and the clouds picked up a pink hue. The fire was warm and the temperature was within the normal range. The snow had melted from Friday’s rain and it was lovely on the grassland habitat at Bullitt Reservation.
After a warm beverage and pastry, we hiked the Pebble Trail, then returned refreshed and ready to continue our day. When we have the right weather, a sunrise, even in the winter, can feel very rewarding. We hope you will join us when we have our next sunrise event.
